The Development Authority of Bryan County (DABC) will host the third annual Bryan County Industry Day event for a group of 7th graders from Bryan County Middle High School and Richmond Hill Middle School on March 23, 2023.Participating students will receive commemorative t-shirts designed by a student at Bryan County Middle High school and sponsored by Coastal Electric Cooperative.During this event, the students will get to participate in tours of Bryan County’s local industries to help educate them about job opportunities in the community. Upon completion of the industry tours, the students will all congregate at the Lanier Learning Center in Ellabell for lunch, which is sponsored in partnership with Georgia Power and Thomas & Hutton, to hear from Hyundai about the types of opportunities that will be available at the new Metaplant and steps the students can take to prepare themselves for those opportunities in the future.Blue Bell Creameries will provide ice cream during lunch.Richmond Hill High School (RHHS) students have also been involved in the planning of Industry Day. Students at RHHS went to the participating industries and filmed industry preview videos to show the 7th graders prior to the event.

Schedule: Tours will be held at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00am, followed by 12:15pm lunch at Lanier Learning Center (lunch speakers from Hyundai, Thomas & Hutton, and Georgia Power)

If you would like to send someone to cover a particular industry tour, please let us know so we can confirm with the company that they will allow news organizations inside the facility and share the relevant on-site POC for the particular industry. All participants are welcome to join us for lunch after the event.
