The Development Authority of Bryan County announced Friday that North Carolina-based Ascendum Volvo will open 22,000 foot facility in the Belfast Commerce Park in Richmond Hill.

The facility should be open in 2023, the DABC press release said.

Here is the DABC announcement is in its entirety.

The Development Authority of Bryan County (DABC) is excited to announce that Belfast Commerce Park in Richmond Hill will soon be home to Ascendum Volvo, a construction equipment dealer headquartered out of Huntersville, NC.  The company's new facility will allow Ascendum to serve its customers' needs more comprehensively.  The new facility will operate as a service and sales center and will offer all equipment maintenance and repairs, including cylinder repairs, hose making, welding, and line boring.

"Ascendum Volvo first approached us about a new location in Belfast back in 2018," said DABC Chairman Jon Seagraves.  "It illustrates the fact that good things come to those who wait.  We have continued to check in with the company periodically over the last few years and are excited that our patience has paid off."

Ascendum Volvo serves a variety of market sectors with its products, including agriculture, construction, heavy construction, and port operations, among others.  The company's new 22,000 square-foot facility will be built in Belfast Commerce Park and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2023.

“We are excited to provide our customers and employees with a larger, more up-to-date service center,” says Patrick Overstreet, Ascendum’s Director of Service.  “Savannah is an important market for us and the new facility will position us for continued growth within this area.”

Ascendum is expected to move several existing jobs from a location in Chatham County and create some additional new jobs to support its expansion.  These careers will include shop and field service technicians and managerial positions ranging from various skill levels, meaning there will be internal promotion opportunities for the employees.

The Development Authority is excited to welcome Ascendum Volvo to the industry base here in Bryan County.
